NatLitSci (Natural, Literature, and Science) is a small exploration and appreciation group that has organized 24 tours over the past three years. Each tour brings together 20-40 participants to enjoy 1-day, 2-day, or 4-5-day journeys combining natural landscapes, literary heritage, and scientific insights.

The upcoming 25th NatLitSci Tour will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The day’s itinerary includes:

  1. MLML Open House Visit: We’ll attend the annual open house at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories (Please RSVP MLML https://mlml.sjsu.edu/about-us/open-house-2025/  10 am, 8272 Moss Landing Rd, Moss Landing, CA 95039), where visitors explore cutting-edge marine research. We expect to view the automated deep-sea exploration vehicles, including the whale-fin-inspired design with bone and brain lobe neural structures similar to those of land mammals and birds.
  2. Lunch and Gallery Tour at Haute Enchilada: following the lab visit, we will enjoy a gourmet meal at Haute Enchilada’s colorful coffee house and art gallery. I would invite members of the founding family to offer a short presentation about the gallery’s history and cultural significance
  3. Shakespeare Society Exhibition:  we’ll continue with a visit to the Shakespeare Society exhibit. The Society’s artifacts include rare 200-year-old playbooks printed using advanced halftone techniques. My personal ties with the Society’s owners, developed through regular visits; visited Verona Italy the site of Romeo and Julia; and Helsingor Denmark, the sight of Hamlet deepened my appreciation for their collection.
