Filed under: New Member Orientation — Dave @ 6:07 pm

LOOK FOR Orientation Meetings. You will sit with other new SBW members and an officer of the branch for about an hour and one half at some cozy coffee and book place to discuss the clubs offerings — what the Club can do for you, and how and when it does it.

Look to our Membership Chair for details of the next meeting. You can contact her, Marjorie Johnson, at membership@southbaywriters.com.

Task Coordinators in Place, Working Group Complete

Filed under: 2010 East of Eden Writers Conference — Dave @ 6:00 pm

WHY AM I WRITING”

Conference Theme

Our 2010 conference will feature several instructional tracks dealing with motivation and muse right through to today’s publication opportunities. We will again host Agents who will entertain your “pitch,” and professional editors who will review, analyze and advise on your writing. There will be contests and readings, live music, restful corners and refreshment, keynote speakers, and great food — with opportunities for networking and of course, the ever-present “more.”

Our Working Group is in place and fully staffed, we are on schedule for a special early-bird sale to CWC members-only in February (that’s before the egg is cracked), some thirty presenters and agents have “signed,” and we are on track for a particularly rich and enjoyable conference.

  • Working-Group Director – Dave LaRoche
  • Program – Kent Werges
  • Presenter Acquisition – Colin Seymour
  • Contests and Readings – Bill Baldwin
  • Publicity and PR – Ro Davis
  • Hospitality – Cathy Bauer
  • Logistics  – Bill Belew
  • Grants and Sponsors – Dale King

Consider volunteering as an “Associate.” You will have an exciting and rewarding experience yielding self satisfaction, networking opportunities, and an integration into your club. You will meet and work with folks who will ease your perspective into new territory and turn your head toward immediate  inroads into the writing and publishing world — otherwise longer in coming.

Contact Bill Belew or Dave LaRoche if interested in participating.
